The ‘glorious freedom’ that we as children of God
should be experiencing includes freedom from the fear
of life, from anxiety over our salvation and the fear of
death, but also freedom from the desire to ‘appear
good’. ‘Appearing good’ not only saps us of our energy
as we seek to impress one another but puts us in the
company of those great pretenders – the Pharisees!...
