Whenever Jesus used the word “peace” it is most
probable that he used the Hebrew word SHALOM. This
may not seem that important to the Western mind.
Isn’t peace just peace? Isn’t it just a matter of
following the words of John Lennon’s song, “all we are
saying, is give peace a chance”? Why, whether
international, national, local, relational, personal does it
always seem so fragile?
What we mean by peace and what Jesus meant by
Shalom are two very different things!
