Contemporary
Rather than a specific dance technique, contemporary dance is a collection of styles
and methods developed from Modern and Postmodern dance.
Rather than emphasising technique per se,
which is seen more as a tool for the dancer to strengthen the body and increase flexibility, contemporary dance as a field, is more
concerned with examining the choreographic
and performing process.
Contemporary teaches a wide variety of techniques to outwork this and keep the dancer incredibly versitile. Contemporary is still
|
developing in the modern world by examining movement based on study of the human body and the mind. This style is unique and enticing suitable for a wide age range.
