And it’s about time too! Hayley has always been in the pipeline for the Student of the Year and 2010 undoubtedly belongs to her! Hayley, now 19, joined the academy at 13 after seeing an article in the newspaper. Joel says, ‘I remember seeing her with her friends and they were spell bound when Sarah and I walked into the room as if we were dancing celebrities (laughs)’. I think we can safely say, Hayley, or Bushead, to which she has been renamed, has now become the Academy celeb. This year, Bush has proved herself a worthy winner. She danced thirteen of the twenty pieces in the showcase, some of these over seven minutes long, and showed stamina that would put some male sports men to shame. Her face radiates with beauty when dancing and she brings fun and laughter to all her classes. Hayley will be going to University next year but will still be based in York. Let’s hope we see her next year in all her glory on stage again. Well done Bush.
