Confession

Comments by Francesca Penty

The word Gospel translates in our language into ‘Good News’. The core of this fab news is that through the life, and giving of His life, Jesus removed from us all the bad things we’ve done, thought and suffered and then dealt with them all for us. It was news 2000 years ago to those around Him and it is still news to us today when we grab hold of it for ourselves.

If that’s not good enough in Romans 8:32 Paul tells us that God’s investment into us is endless. After all what won’t he do for us if he is willing to give the life of His son, just for you? No matter how many times we screw up or how many times our faith waivers, He WANTS to give into our lives. He’s passionate about making my life, and yours, the best it can possibly be, the most fulfilling, purpose driven, glorious existence. By sending Jesus, God was desperately trying to bridge the gap between Him and us.

Earlier in Communicating Life Chris talked about negative thinking and by how telling ourselves something just 45 times it becomes part of our automatic thought process. So instead of filling our heads up with negative thoughts why not fill up on the good news of the gospel?

Listen to the 'confessions' message to learn more about the statements below.
- I am a blessed man
- The favour of God rests on me
- Where sin is big, grace is bigger
- I have sufficient mercies introduced into my life on a daily basis to deal with whatever I may encounter
- God's investment into me is endless
- There are no unredeemable mistakes in my life
- I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength
